We evaluate the existence of attention disorders using several diagnostic methods.
First, parents and or teachers complete a forty-one item questionnaire consisting of diagnostic material in the DSM-IV.
Then the patient is hooked up to the EEG computer system so those brainwaves can be observed.
The patient is given a mental challenge (i.e. subtracting backwards or performing other mental exercises appropriate for age level) to observe the brain waves in an engaged condition.
Attention disorders neurologically are excessive amounts of low frequency theta (4-7 Hz) brainwaves.
The patient's brainwaves are projected on a second computer in three different colors.
Purple represents the low frequency (4-7 Hz) brainwave, making it easy for patients and or parents to see the amount of theta that is
preventing the person from being able to focus and concentrate. This is objective information with no guesswork.
Please call Better Brain Care to schedule an appointment for evaluation and demonstration of the Neurotherapy Process.
